BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Lewis' women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Concordia (N.Y.) on Thursday afternoon in Bronxville, N.Y. The Flyers are 0-1 on the season while the Clippers improve to 7-0.
Tereza Pilzova (Prague, Czech Republic/) and
Joie Reisch (LaGrande Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township) picked up a victory at No. 1 doubles defeating Angelica Hantzis and Josefina Martin 6-2. Aleksandra Vredojevic and
Jovana Vujanic () lost at No. 2 doubles to Ebba Rosberg and Paula Palero 6-2. Concordia picked up the doubles point winning the third doubles match 6-2 as Ann Wirlitsch and Alexandra Dumitrescu defeated
Sophie Davis (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) and
Sarah Markun (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy).
Vujanic won at No. 5 singles defeating Wirlitsch 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6). Pilzova lost to Rosberg 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Sredojevic lost in three sets to Hantzis 2-6, 6-2, 3-6 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Resich dropped the first set to Martin 6-2, won the second set 6-4 and lost the third set 6-3. Davis fell in straight sets to Palero at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-2. Agnes Florcyzk () lost to Alexandra Dumitrescu 6-2, 6-3.
