ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's women's tennis team had its three-match winning streak snapped in a 7-0 loss to No. 4 Indianapolis on Saturday at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex in Romeoville, Ill. The Flyers fall to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in the GLVC while the Greyhounds improve to 17-0, 4-0 GLVC.
In singles action,
Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) lost to Hanna Volikova 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. In No. 2 singles
Tereza Pilzova (Prague, Czech Republic) fell to Nikol Alexeeva 6-0, 6-0. Alek Sredojevic dropped a straight sets decision to Anya Novikova 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At No. 4 singles
Joie Reisch (LaGrande Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township) lost to Alina Kislitskaya 6-3, 6-3.
Sophie Davis (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) was defeated by Anna Valiaeva 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and
Sarah Markun (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) lost to Chloe Weihs 7-5, 6-0 in No. 6 singles play.
In doubles competition, Carmen Trus and Sredojevic lost to Alexeeva and Novikova 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. Pilzova and Reisch fell to Volikova and Kislitskaya 6-0 at No. 2 doubles and Davis and Markun were defeated by Maja Pindelska and Valiaeva 6-0 at in No. 3 doubles play.
The Flyers are back at home on Monday taking on Judson University at 2 p.m. at the Oremus Tennis Complex.
