ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' women's tennis team defeated Judson 6-1 on Monday at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex. The Flyers improve to 5-7 on the season while the Eagles fall to 10-10.
In singles action, Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) defeated Sofia Corona Garza in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles it was Tereza Pilzova (Prague, Czech Republic) knocking off Irina Iacob 6-1, 6-3. Alek Sredojevic beat Ellen Binnion 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. At No. 4 singles it was Joie Reisch (LaGrande Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township) defeating Martha Banda 6-0, 6-1. Sophie Davis (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) knocked off Georgia Redmond 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and at No. 6 singles it was Lauren Janecek defeating Sarah Makun 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles competition, Trus and Sredojevic defeated Garza and Binnion 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles it was Pilzova and Reisch teaming up to defeat Iacob and Banda 6-0 and Davis and Markun knocked off Redmond and Janecek 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Lewis plays its final home match of the 2019 season on Wednesday hosting Illinois Springfield at the Vaughan Tennis Center in Aurora, Ill.
