ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis women's lacrosse team recorded a single game school record for goals scored in its 21-5 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Friday at Lewis Stadium. With the win the Flyers improve to 1-4 while the Bison drop to 0-4.
Sarah Bradley (Wye Mills, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) scored eight goals and added five assists to lead the Lewis attack.
Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) scored four goals while
Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva),
Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein),
Jamie Rieger (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) and
Lindsey Traub (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard High School) had two goals apiece. Traub recorded 13 draw controls and had eight ground ball pickups. Serritella,
Paige Bracey (Apex, N.C./Apex) and
Katelyn Kuzmanko (West Olive, MI/West Ottawa High School) had two caused turnovers apiece. In total, seven different Flyers scored on the day.
Brigid Fornek (Lawrenceville, Ga./Grayson) made three saves in goal to pick up her first collegiate win while
Elizabeth Baeder (Hampshire, ILL./Hampshire High School) made two saves.
Lewis jumped out to a fast start, scoring 11 unanswered goals to force a running clock in the first half and held a 13-2 lead at the half. It would keep Oklahoma Baptist down by double figures the entire second half as the Flyers coasted to victory.
Lewis outshot the Bison 32-11 in the contest and forced 17 turnovers.
The Flyers return to play on Sunday hosting Davenport at 12 p.m. at Lewis Stadium.
