Several Records Fall In Flyers Win At Alderson Broaddus

PHILIPPI, W.V. – Lewis' men's lacrosse team set several single game school records in its 28-6 win at Alderson Broaddus on Tuesday afternoon in Philippi, W.V. The Flyers win their third straight and improve to 4-2 on the season while the Battlers fall to 0-5.

Lewis set single game records for goals scored (28), assists (19), points (47), shots (69), shots on goal (48), caused turnovers (12) and faceoffs won (27). It tied a single game record with 42 ground balls.

Eight different players recorded a goal with seven of them scoring multiple goals. Drew Kask (Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) had eight goals in the contest while Nolan Dalep (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Claremont Secondary School) and Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/Pitt Meadows Secondary School) had four apiece. Thomas Purfeerst (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) and Karl Flinter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) had three goals each.

The Flyers opened the game scoring four goals in the first 3:21 on its way to an 11-goal output in the opening quarter. Kask found the back of the net four times in the quarter while Dalep added two more.

Lewis added seven more goals in the second quarter to take an 18-4 lead into halftime. The Flyers tacked on another eight goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth.

Kask set a new single game scoring record with 10 points (eight goals, two assists) in the contest while Flinter finished with three goals and six assists for nine points. Peter Carlson (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) won 27 faceoffs and picked up 19 ground balls while Flinter had a single game record with 18 shots taken.

Josh Calvin (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame College Prepatory HS) and Keegan Sidwell (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway West) each made four saves in goal.

The Flyers are back in action on Thursday taking on Davis & Elkins at 3 p.m. (CDT) in Elkins, W.V.
