KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis University's men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three with a 2-1 win over Rockhurst at Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday evening. The Flyers improve to 7-3-2, 5-3-1 GLVC while the Hawks drop to 4-8-1, 3-5-1 GLVC.

Dimitri Huitron's (Aurora, Ill./Oswego East) goal 3:02 before halftime broke the deadlock. Huitron scored off a failed clearance by the Hawks from approximately 22 yards out from left of the goal for his second goal of the season.
The Flyers added to their lead in the 60th minute as

Rockhurst had a chance in the 68th minute but Max Pycior's shot attempt was denied by
Sebastian Doppelhofer (Liebmannweg, Austria/Kapfenburg). The Hawks had another chance to cut into the lead eight minutes but Doppelhofer made the save on Chase Klusman's attempt towards the upper right corner.
Rockhurst broke up Lewis' bid for a third straight shutout scoring with 0:12 left in the contest on a goal from Parker Esparza. Esparza scored on a header from five yards out off a flip throw from Connor Brummett.
The Flyers finished the game with a 12-10 advantage in shots with six of those on goal to three for the Hawks. Mwagnga led Lewis with four shots in the contest while Oluwatuyi,
Godwin Asore (Kumasi, Ghana/Putnam Science Academy) and
Domenic Baumann (Bergheim, Germany/Brauweiler) had two shots apiece. Doppelhofer stopped two of the three shots he faced in goal.
The Flyers return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Liberty, Mo., to take on William Jewell at 2:30 p.m.
