ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's nationally ranked men's and women's cross country programs are set to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regionals this Saturday (Nov. 6) at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Ind., and is hosted by Southern Indiana.

The Flyer women, ranked 15th in the latest USTFCCCA poll, are coming off a second-place finish at the GLVC Championships 10 days ago and head into the regional meet ranked fourth in the Midwest Region. Grand Valley, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, is the top ranked team in the region and is second nationally. The Lakers are followed by Southern Indiana, the GLVC champs, at two and Cedarville, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference champs, are third.

Lewis' men moved up to 11th in the latest USTFCCCA poll after winning its second consecutive GLVC Championship defeating Illinois Springfield, ranked third in the region, and Southern Indiana, ranked fourth in the region, at the conference meet. Grand Valley State continues to hold the top spot in the latest regional and national rankings heading into this weekend's meet.

The women's 6,000 meter race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by the men's 10,000 meter race at 11:45 a.m. The top three teams in each race will automatically advance to the NCAA National Championships on Nov. 20 at the Abbey Course in Saint Leo, Fla.

The top two individuals who are not part of an advancing team and all individuals in top five will advance to the national meet. All-Region honors go to the top 25 finishers in each race. There will also be 10 at-large berths available for teams who did not finish in the top three at their respective regional meet. There will also be an at-large pool for individuals for the national meet as well. Those announcements will be made on Nov. 8.

All tickets will be sold at the gate on race day. Ticket prices are as follows: $10 for adult, $5 for students and admission for ages two and under is free.
