PLAINFIELD, Ill. – Lewis University's men's tennis team dropped its third straight match with a 6-1 loss to Ferris State on Saturday evening at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield, Ill. The Flyers fall to 2-4 while the Bulldogs improve to 5-0.
Lewis' lone win of the evening came at No. 3 singles as
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia/) rallied to beat Yannic Mader 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
Juan Martin Ramirez Mejia (Medellin, Colombia) fell to Mathias Guerre 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1,
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) was defeated by Jan Koupil 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2,
Pedja Trifunovic (Aleksandrovac, Serbia/) lost to Benjamin Lortie 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at No. 4,
Daniel Sowa (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) fell to Josh McDermott 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 and
Jeremy Charles (Grenada/Cedar International School) was defeated by Ayush Deswal 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Flyers No. 1 doubles team of Ramirez Mejia and Ambrozic lost to Guerre and Koupil 6-3 while the duo of Lusti and Trifunovic fell to McDermott and Lortie 6-3 at No. 2 and Sowa and
Jonathan Maghirang (Woodridge, Ill./) was defeated by Mader and Deswal 6-0 at No. 3.
Lewis returns to the courts on Thursday (March 18) as they travel to Wheaton College for a dual beginning at 12:45 p.m.
