CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lewis University's women's lacrosse team's second half rally came up a little short in its 15-10 loss at Lee University on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland, Tenn. The Flyers drop to 1-3 on the season while the Flames are now 4-2.

The game was tied at three when Lee took control scoring four times in the span of 5:23 to take a 7-3 lead. Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) brought Lewis to within 7-4 with 2:13 left in the opening half but a goal by Giselle Gonzalez with 0:07 remaining in the stanza gave the Flames an 8-4 lead at halftime.

Lindsey Traub (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard High School) scored her second of the day to cut Lee's lead to 8-5 1:15 into the second half but back-to-back goals from Kelsey McGowen and Dariana Blanton gave the Flames their largest lead of the afternoon at 10-5.

The Flyers wouldn't go away scoring three goals in less than three minutes as Traub, Alyson Jines (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley High School) and Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) each scored to make it 10-8 with more than 15 minutes to play.

The sides trade the next two goals as Lee still lead 11-9 after a goal from Emily Meredith (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) with 11:58 to.

Lee got back-to-back goals from Brittney White to extend their lead to 13-9 and then Bowen added her second of the contest to cut the Flame lead to 13-10 with 7:18 remaining.

Lee iced the game with two goals in the final 3:03 as Blanton and Shayna Ryan both scored for the final tallies.
