ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lindsey Traub (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard High School) scored her sixth goal of the season for Lewis' women's lacrosse team but second ranked Indianapolis proved worthy of its ranking and record. The Greyounds (7-0, 1-0) moved past the Flyers with a 25-1 decision on Saturday afternoon.
Traub scored the Lewis (1-4, 0-1 GLVC) with 4:30 left in the game. Traub's goal came at the end of a Flyer possession that featured three shots in the span of less than a minute. She missed her first attempt wide but connected on her second attempt.
Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) lead Lewis with seven draw controls while
Paige Zahler (Verona, Wis./Verona) scooped up five ground balls.
Brigid Fornek (Lawrenceville, Ga./Grayson) made four saves in goals.
The Flyers continue their road trip on Tuesday as they head to Pepper Pike, Ohio to take on Ursuline at 3 p.m. (CST).
