BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Lewis University's women's soccer team tallied its third win of the season defeating Southwest Baptist, 3-0, at Plaster Stadium on Thursday. The Flyers improve to 3-5-2 overall and in the GLVC while the Bearcats fell to 0-9-1 overall and in the conference.

The Flyers had the advantage in the first half as they outnumbered SBU in shots, 8-2, with three attempts on goal. Late in the half,
Elisa Aguilar (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) put Lewis on the board as her shot went into the far-right corner for her first collegiate goal.

Continuing their strong ending to the first 45 minutes of play, the Flyers doubled up on the Bearcats as
Christine Szymanski (Orland Park, Ill/Sandburg) set up
Niamh Hehir (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) for the header into the goal for Hehir's first collegiate goal.

With one-minute remaining on the clock,
Grace DeVaux (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) extended Lewis' with her first collegiate goal to secure the shutout win over the Bearcats.

The Flyers had sturdy defense throughout the match, limiting Southwest Baptist to only three shot attempts against their 22. Lewis had ten shots on target and keeper,
Lucy Clark (Bristol, England/), recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
