ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Lewis University men's tennis team won its fourth straight match defeating Maryville, 4-3 on Saturday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo. The Flyers improve to 9-5, 4-1 in the GLVC while the Saints drop to 4-6, 2-5 in the GLVC.
The Flyers took the first two doubles matches of the day as 
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia/) and Juan Ramirez Mejia defeated Juan Segura and Sebastian Trigosso, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles while 
Pedja Trifunovic (Aleksandrovac, Serbia/) and 
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) edged Bodin Aleksic and Jac Beutell-Triggs, 6-4 in No. 2 doubles. The Saints were able to take No.3 doubles as Tom Schmitt and Fernando de Andres Orea beat 
Daniel Sowa (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) and 
Jonathan Maghirang (Woodridge, Ill./), 6-3.
In singles, Lewis and Maryville split the first two matches. Mejia picked up a straight-sets victory over Aleksic, 6-4, 6-1, while Beutell-Triggs edged Lusti in the following match, 6-3, 6-3. The Flyers won the next two matches as Ambrozic beat De Andres Orea, 6-1, 6-1, and Trifunovic bagged Lewis's fourth straight win after defeating Segura, 6-2, 6-4.
Sowa dropped his match against Trigosso, 6-2, 6-1, and 
Jeremy Charles (Grenada/Cedar International School) was beaten by Tom Schmitt, 6-2, 6-1.
The Flyers are back on the court next Saturday morning at 10 a.m. against Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind.
