KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis University's women's lacrosse was defeated by Rockhurst, 19-1 on Friday evening at Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo. The Flyers fall to 2-5 and 0-2 in the GLVC while the Hawks improve to 4-3, 2-0 GLVC.
Rockhurst scored the first 11 goals of the contest and lead 11-0 at halftime. Olivia Collier and Marianna Anderson each had two goals in the first 30 minutes.
Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) got the Flyers on the board 6:20 into the second half scoring an unassisted goal for her seventh of the season.
The Hawks then scored the final eight goals of the contest for the final margin.
Bowen led the way for Lewis with four ground balls, six caused turnovers and had a draw control to go along with her goal.
The Flyers conclude their road trip on Sunday as they head to Saint Joseph, Mo., to take on Missouri Western at noon.
