ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Thursday (Jan. 20) that Lewis University's
Keegan Zack (Watseka, Ill./Watseka Community) has been named the GLVC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 16.
It's the first indoor conference player of the week for Zack in his career and he's the first Flyer to win the conference honor since
Michael Lyons (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central HS) won it on Jan. 15, 2019.
Zack recorded a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump with a leap of 14.64 meters (48'0.5") to win the event at the Sean Brady Invite last weekend at Trine University. His mark currently ranks first in the GLVC and 14th in NCAA Division II.
Zack also finished third in the long jump with a jump of 6.83 meters (22'5") matching his season best he set back in December at the Olivet Nazarene Holiday Invite. He is currently ranked second in the conference in the long jump.
Lewis is back in action this Saturday (Jan. 22) as it travels to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invite.
