ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University men's soccer team bounced back nicely as the Flyers defeated Quincy in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup, 3-0, Sunday (Oct. 2) at Lewis Stadium. Junior
Pablo Rueda (Chicago, Ill./Taft) recorded his first-ever win as a Flyer in his first career start.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, Quincy 0
- Ziermann wasted no time as he passed it into Perez in the third minute and found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
- The Hawks tried again in the 15th minute on the attack but Rueda was there for the save.
- A few minutes later, QU looked for another scoring chance but Lewis recorded the save.
- Arturs Gordonickis tried to make it 2-0 in the 38th minute but his shot went high.
Second Half: Lewis 2, Quincy 0
- Carlback doubled the lead in the 50th minute with his first career goal to make it 2-0.
- Quincy tried to respond right away the next minute but Rueda picked up the save.
- Zahkar Shkidchenko (Kiev, Ukraine/) went on the attack with a scoring chance in the 58th minute but Quincy's goalie picked up the save.
- The Hawks tried to cut into the deficit in the 62nd minute but Rueda saved it.
- Mikey Revell (Largo, Maryland/Bishop McNamara) looked to make it 3-0 but the goalkeeper scooped it up.
- Bogers finally broke through and found the back of the net in the 70th after receiving the ball from Perez to make it 3-0.
- Jesus Meza (Glendale Heights, Ill./) went on the attack in the 84th minute but his shot was saved.
