SET BREAKDOWN
FIRST SET: Southwest Baptist 25, Lewis 21
- Both teams each scored nine points to start the opening set.
- SW Baptist rallied for three in a row to make it 12-9.
- Ray was able to cut it down to one (17-16 Bearcats) but SWB made another rally to go up 20-16.
- Ray cut it down to one again but that was the closest Lewis got as SW Baptist outscored the Flyers 5-1.
SECOND SET: Lewis 25, Southwest Baptist 19
- Both teams each scored 10 points back and forth to start the second set.
- SW Baptist scored the next two before Lewis recorded the four after which was started by a kill from Stefanski to give the Flyers a 14-12 lead.
- The Bearcats went up 19-18 late in the second set before the Flyers scored seven unanswered capped off by a kill by Schlechte to give the Flyers the victory.
THIRD SET: Lewis 28, Southwest Baptist 26
- Southwest Baptist went up 9-4 early in the third set.
- Lewis used a 7-1 rally capped off by an ace by Schlechte to give the Flyers a 11-10 lead.
- The Bearcats regained the lead at 18-16 in the third set.
- SWB had set point late in the third after going ahead 24-21 but Lewis fought back and scored four in a row capped off by a kill by Stefanski.
- The Flyers scored the last two points of the third set to go up 2-1 going to the fourth set.
FOURTH SET: Lewis 25, Southwest Baptist 17
- The Bearcats went up 5-3 to start the fourth set before Lewis scored six in a row to go up 9-5.
- Van Loo recorded a kill to give the Flyers a 14-7 lead.
- O'Neill picked up a kill to make the lead up to 23-14 but the Bearcats did not give up, scoring three straight before the Flyers put them away and won the fourth set 25-17 and the match 3-1.
Final Score: Lewis 3, Southwest Baptist 1
