Flyers Post Third Straight Win, 7-2, Over William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. – The Lewis University women's soccer team beat William Jewel 7-2 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest Friday (Oct. 7) at Greene Stadium. Cosa Bella Milazzo (Orland Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) led the Flyers with two goals.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 2, William Jewell 2
  • Pinto scored the first goal for the Flyers 5:30 into the game.
  • The Cardinals put up two shots over the next five minutes and managed to score one goal.
  • Moments later Milazzo was able to notch her first goal of the game, assisted by Aguilar.
  • William Jewel was able to answer back, converting one of its next five shots to tie the game before the end of the period.

  • The Flyers got shots on goal from Pinto and Milazzo early in the half before Milazzo managed to score her second goal of the game at the 56:37 mark.
  • DeVaux broke through at the 70:02 mark and scored her first goal of the season, while Hadzic scored her second goal of the season at the 71:19 mark.
  • Gustafson gave the Flyers a four-goal lead at the 75:28 mark, which happened to be the second goal assisted by Jones in the contest.
  • With less than five minutes left, Krupp scored a goal to cap the Flyers five-goal victory.
