EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- The No. 4 seed Lewis women's volleyball team advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship with a sweep against No. 1 seed Quincy, 3-0, in the GLVC Tournament Semifinals, at Eastside Centre Friday (Nov. 11).

SET BREAKDOWN
FIRST SET: Lewis 25, Quincy 21
- Lewis got the first three points of the match after three straight kills.
- Quincy responded and made it a one-point game before the Flyers rallied for five straight points capped off by a kill by Ray.
- The Hawks cut it back down to 13-9 midway through the second set before Lewis scored another five points in a row which was capped off by a block by Stenman and Ray.
- Quincy looked to make it close but the Flyers were able to put the Hawks away after Ray picked up a kill to win the first set 25-21.
SECOND SET: Lewis 25, Quincy 18
- Quincy jumped out to an early 4-3 lead before Lewis rallied for five straight points which was started from a kill by Stefanski.
- The Hawks cut it down to 12-10 then Stefanski and Van Loo picked up back-to-back kills.
- Lewis had the advantage most of the second set as Quincy cut it down to four (21-17) but Lewis had three straight points capped off by a service ace from Schlechte.
- The Flyers ended up winning the second set 25-18 after a kill by Stefanski.
THIRD SET: Lewis 25, Quincy 21
- Lewis jumped out to a 6-2 lead after back-to-back kills by Ray.
- QU cut it back down to one again (6-5) but the Flyers had the answer once again going on a 8-2 run after a kill by Van Loo made it 14-7.
- The Hawks looked to make a comeback but Lewis was one step ahead all the time.
- Lewis led 23-14 late in the third set and Quincy had one last fight in them but Lewis was able to put them away and Van Loo won the match with a kill.
Final Score: Lewis 3, Quincy 0

- Lewis will be back in action for the GLVC Tournament Championship Saturday, November 11 against No. 3 seed Rockhurst starting at noon CT. The two teams met on October 21 with the Hawks coming out victorious.
