ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lewis University women's volleyball team was unable to come with the victory Saturday (Nov. 5) as the Flyers dropped their final regular season match 3-1 to Missouri-St. Louis. The Tritons won in four sets 28-26, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19.

SET BREAKDOWN
FIRST SET: UMSL 28, Lewis 26
· UMSL jumped out to an early 6-3 advantage in the first set before Lewis scored five straight points to take a 8-6 lead.
· Lewis would be the first to score 10 in the set after a kill and a block by Megan Schlechte (Strasburg, Ill./Stewardson-Strasburg).
· The Flyers had a 15-11 lead before UMSL scored eight of the next 10 to take a 19-17 advantage.
· Later in the set, Van Loo had two kills and Stefanski had one kill to tie the score at 23.
· Both teams went back-and-fourth the next couple of points before UMSL scored three straight to win the opening set 28-26.
SECOND SET: Lewis 25, UMSL 23
· Stefanski recorded a kill to make it 3-0 Lewis to start off the second set.
· Both teams would go on runs as UMSL scored four straight to take the lead at 4-3, but the Flyers answered with a 6-0 run to regain the lead at 12-9.
· Tied at 16, Lewis scored three straight to take a 19-16 advantage.
· After five straight points from the Tritons, Lewis scored six of the next eight points to win the second set and tie the game at one set a piece.
THIRD SET: UMSL 25, Lewis 23
· With back-to-back kills from Van Loo, Lewis was able to start off the third set 4-1.
· UMSL managed to score four straight to take a 9-7 advantage in the set and gain a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
· Van Loo and Stefanski both had two kills apiece throughout the remainder of the set, but the Tritons were able to secure the third set at 25-23.
FOURTH SET: UMSL 25, Lewis 19
· After a back and forth start to begin the fourth set, UMSL had a 10-6 advantage.
· The Tritons were able to extend the lead to six before the Flyers scored three straight points, including an ace from Van Loo.
· Trailing by two at 18-16, the Flyers were only able to score three more points in the final set of the match.
· UMSL scored five of the last seven points to win the fourth set and earn the win at home.
FINAL SCORE: UMSL 3, Lewis 1
