ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lewis University men's basketball team fell to No. 11 Missouri St. Louis 63-60 Saturday (Dec. 10) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at the Mark Twain Building.
Beau Frericks (Cary, Ill./Cary Grove) scored 20 points to lead the Flyers.

SUMMARY
The Flyers used early back-to-back three-pointers by Frericks to take a 9-5 lead. After a Triton basket, Frericks hit another three and
Vlado Zrnic (Greendale, Wis./Don Bosco Prep) added a three-pointer to give Lewis a 15-7 advantage.
UMSL came back with a 13-3 run to take a 20-18 lead with 5:12 remaining in the half as an
Anthony Sayles Jr. (Evanston, Ill./Norte Dame Prep) had a three-pointer as the only scoring for the Flyers during the run.
Lewis responded by scoring the final seven points of the half to take a 29-25 lead into the break as Frericks scored four points in the run.
An early 11-2 run for the Tritons in the second half gave them a 39-34 advantage with 15:28 remaining in the contest. But the Flyers scored seven of the next eight points to regain a 41-40 lead as Hill scored all seven points during the run.
The back-and-forth game would continue as UMSL went on an 11-4 run to go ahead 51-45, before eight straight from Lewis put it right back up 53-51 with 6:01 left.
A Frericks three-pointer gave Lewis a 56-53 lead with 4:30 left, but the Tritons came back with seven straight to move ahead 60-56 with 2:23 remaining. Sahinkaya cut the deficit to two with a layup with 1:27 remaining.
With 30 seconds remaining Zrnic followed up a miss with an offensive rebound and putback to tie the game at 60-60. However, the Tritons did the same thing on the other end, plus drawing a foul with six seconds left to regain the advantage. The free throw made it 63-60.
The Flyers had one last chance at the buzzer but a three-pointer by Sayles was no good. The Flyer shot 48 percent (24-of-50) from the floor, while the Tritons were 44.4 percent (24-of-54).
