ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's women's lacrosse lost 15-4 to Northern Michigan at the Superior Dome in Marquette, Mich., on Sunday. The Flyers drop to 1-1 while the Wildcats improve to 2-1.

NMU scored all four goals in the opening period to take the early lead. Lewis got on the board early in the second quarter as Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) scored her third of the season with an assist from Paige Bracey (Apex, N.C./Apex) to cut the lead to three. The Wildcats scored the final two goals of the quarter to take a 6-1 lead into halftime.

Northern Michigan added to its lead scoring three goals in the first 4:30 minutes of the third quarter. The Flyers got a goal late in the quarter from Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) to cut into the lead.

Lewis got goals from Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) and Sydney Able (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit) in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Wildcats scored six times in the stanza for the final margin.

Lucich and Able combined for four shots on goal in the contest while Bowen, Serritella and Lindsey Traub (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard High School) had a shot on goal each. Brigid Fornek (Lawrenceville, Ga./Grayson) made 11 saves in the contest.

The Flyers open the home portion of their schedule next Sunday (March 6) hosting Ashland at 12 p.m. at Lewis Stadium.
