ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's women's lacrosse team fell to No. 24 Davenport 19-4 on Friday afternoon at Lewis Stadium. The Flyers fall to 2-4 while the Panthers improve to 6-1.
Davenport scored the first six goals of the contest as Blakely Malpass and Ayanna Turrubiates combined for four of those goals. Lewis got on the board with 2:34 left in the stanza as
Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) scored her ninth goal of the season. Turrubiates got the hat trick as she scored with 1:44 remaining in the quarter to give the Panthers their six goal lead back.
Davenport continued its run in the second stanza outscoring the Flyers 6-0. Anna Glynn had three goals in the frame while Malpass, Turrubiates and Aaliyah Miller had one apiece.
Each side scored twice in the third quarter as Serritella and
Jamie Rieger (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) each scored while Turrubiates and Glynn had tallies for the Panthers.
Davenport scored four of the five goals in the final quarter for the final margin.
Rieger led the way for the Flyers with a pair of goals.
Jordana Doshna (Waterford, Conn./The Ethel Walker School) scooped up three ground balls while Lucich, Rieger, Serritella and
Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) each picked up two ground balls. Bown won five draw controls and
Madeline Scherf (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha South High School) caused two turnovers.
Glynn had a game-high eight points with six goals and two assists while Turrubiates finished with five goals and Malpass added four goals.
Lewis is back at home on Sunday as it hosts Findlay at 12 p.m. at Lewis Stadium.
