LOCKPORT, Ill. – Lewis University's 45th ranked men's tennis team swept crosstown rival St. Francis 7-0 on Thursday afternoon at Challenge Fitness in Lockport, Ill. The Flyers improve to 9-3 while the Fighting Saints fall to 2-12.

Lewis won all nine matches (three doubles and six singles) to complete the sweep.

The Flyers top doubles team of David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia/) and Juan Martin Ramirez Mejia (Medellin, Colombia/) defeated Sebastian Bahamondes and Erwan Le Guennec 6-3. Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) and Pedja Trifunovic (Aleksandrovac, Serbia/) followed with a 6-4 win over Daniel Espinosa and Martin Rayos Del Sol in the second doubles contest. Oliwer Wierzbicki (Szczecin, Poland) and Andrej Zoranovic (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) completed the doubles sweep by beating Aidan Flores and Paul Wottgen 7-6 (7-4).

In the singles portion of the contest Lusti opened it with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Le Guennec in the second singles contest. Trifunovic followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Wottgen at number four singles. Zoranovic defeated Flores 6-2, 7-5 at number six singles, Wierzbicki handed Rayos Del Sol a 6-0, 6-1 defeat at number five singles, Ambrozic extended his winning streak to eight with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Espinosa and Ramirez Mejia finished it off with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Bahamondes in the number one singles match.

Lewis is scheduled to return to the courts next Tuesday (March 29) as they host Cardinal Stritch at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex at 1 p.m.
