ROMEOVILLE Ill. – Lewis University's men's lacrosse team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play with a 12-3 win over Davenport on Wednesday afternoon at Lewis Stadium. The Flyers improve to 4-2, 1-0 GLVC while the Panthers fall to 3-2, 0-2 GLVC.

Davenport struck first as it scored 0:54 into the contest as James Johnston scored his 13th of the season.

Lewis came back and took the lead scoring three times in the span of 3:48. Evan Clement (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) tied the game as he scored off a rebound of his initial shot that was saved by Daniel Milano. The Flyers took the lead 1:17 later when Nolan Dalep (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Claremont Secondary School) scored with an assist from Stephen Herman (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield) for his 14th of the season.

Lewis added a third goal later in the opening stanza as Bayden Boyenko picked up a ground ball and scored after Cole Roth's (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) shot was saved by Milano.

The only goal in the second frame belonged to Dalep as he scored for the second time in the game. He scooped a rebound of Jack Stone's (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) shot that was blocked and then beat Milano for his 15th of the season.

The Flyers dominated the third period outscoring the Panthers 6-1. Boyenko and Clement had two goals apiece in the stanza while Xan Brouillet (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) and Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, Minn./Totino Grace) each tallied a goal.

Dalep added his third goal of the contest 1:18 into the final quarter and Boyenko capped the scoring with his fourth of the game with 3:31 to play.

The three goals allowed are tied for the fewest allowed in a game in program history.

Boyenko, Clement and Dalep combined for 10 of the team's 12 goals in the contest. Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/Pitt Meadows Secondary School) added two assists as well. Riah Rathe (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) made six saves in goal for Lewis.

The Flyers head to St. Louis on Sunday to take on Embry-Riddle at 2 p.m. at the Maryville Lacrosse Field.
