Traub Scores Four Times In Lewis Women’s Lacrosse Loss To Rockhurst

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lindsey Traub (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard High School) matched her career-high with four goals but it wasn't enough as Lewis University's women's lacrosse team fell to Rockhurst 13-6 on Friday evening at Lewis Stadium. The Flyers drop to 2-7, 0-2 GLVC while the Hawks improve to 7-4, 2-0 GLVC.

Rockhurst broke the scoreless deadlock with 6:54 left in the opening quarter as Dani Mabrey scored with an assist from Mackenzie Blair. The Hawks got a second 2:55 later as Reagan Danner scored an unassisted goal.

Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan) got Lewis on the board 1:47 after Danner's for her third of the season to cut Rockhurst's lead in half.

The Hawks extended their lead on Christine Corbin's first of the game with an assist from Helen Krause.

The Flyers scored three of the first four goals in the second frame to tie the game at four. Traub had two of those including the tying goal while Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) added one.

Mabry gave Rockhurst the lead back as she scored 0:20 after Traub had tied it for her third of the game.

Traub tied 2:26 later for the hat trick with an assist from Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva).

Mabry gave Rockhurst the lead right before the half as she scored on the free position shot for her fourth of the contest.

The Hawks dominated the second half scoring three times in the third quarter with tallies from Mabry, Jaeden Waschbusch and Blair.

Traub scored her fourth of the contest 0:17 into the final period to cut Rockhurst's lead to 9-6 but the Hawks scored the final four goals of the contest for the 13-6 win.

Lewis was outshot in the contest 28-24 including 21-14 in shots on goal. The Flyers caused 13 turnovers in the contest with Jamie Rieger (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) picking up three of those and scooped up 29 ground balls. Rieger and
Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) scooped up four ground balls each. Traub led the offense with four goals and was joined by Lucich and Bowen with a goal apiece. Faith Engle (Marysville, OH/Marysville High School) made five saves in goal.

Mabry led Rockhurst with six goals while Corbin and Danner scored two apiece. Sydney Shindler made four saves in goal.

Lewis concludes its three-game homestand on Sunday hosting Missouri Western at 12 p.m.
