HONOLULU – The No. 21 ranked Lewis University women's volleyball team swept both Hawai'i Pacific, 3-0, and San Francisco State, 3-0, Friday. The Flyers defeated the Sharks, 25-21, 25-21, 25-15, then defeated the Gators, 25-21, 25-18, 27-25 at the Hawai'i Convention Center.

SET BREAKDOWN vs. Hawai'i Pacific
FIRST SET: No. 21 Lewis 25, Hawai'i Pacific 21
- Lewis went up 4-1 early in the first set after a kill by Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic).
- Hawai'i Pacific cut it down to 1 (9-8) after rallying for three straight points.
- The Flyers bounced back after getting back-to-back kills by Farah Taki (North Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) and Juliana Van Loo (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) to make it 11-8.
- Lewis was able to hold onto a lead most of the first set and the Flyers scored the last two points to win the set, 25-21.
SECOND SET: No. 21 Lewis 25, Hawai'i Pacific 20
- Lewis started off the second set with three straight points after Lauren Stenman (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) recorded a service ace.
- The Sharks bounced back and scored four in a row to grab a 4-3 lead in the second set.
- HPU would hold onto a lead early in second set before Lewis rallied to take a 15-14 lead after a kill by Van Loo.
- Shortly after the Sharks tied the set, the Flyers scored three in a row capped off by a service ace by Ally Hickey (Granger, Ind./Penn) to make it 18-15.
- Hawai'i Pacific cut it down to two points (21-19) late in the second set before Lewis scored the last four out of five points to win it 25-20.
THIRD SET: No. 21 Lewis 25, Hawai'i Pacific 15
- The third set was controlled heavily by Lewis after starting off with back-to-back kills by Stenman and Natalie Stefanski (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet West).
- The Sharks had a brief lead 7-6 in the third set before the Flyers scored three in a row.
- Megan Schlechte (Strasburg, Ill./Stewardson-Strasburg) and Van Loo recorded back-to-back kills to grab a 21-13 lead late in the third set.
- The Flyers outscored the Sharks 4-2 the rest of the way to win the set 25-15 which won them the match 3-0.

- Both teams went back-and-forth early in the first set, each scoring five points to make it 5-5.
- SFS went on a 4-1 rally to go up 9-6 and went up as much as 15-9.
- Van Loo and Ray had a huge block which seemed to shift momentum over to Lewis as the Flyers went on a 8-3 rally which tied the set at 18-all.
- Back-to-back service aces by Stenman put the Flyers up by two and in position to win the first set.
- Hickey recorded a service ace which gave Lewis the set point.
SECOND SET: No. 21 Lewis 25, San Francisco State 18
- Both teams traded points again in the second set just like the first making it 5-5.
- Back-to-back kills by Stenman and Schlechte put the Flyers in business for the set, going ahead 9-6.
- The Gators cut it down to 13-11 in favor of Lewis but the Flyers rallied for five points in a row including kills by Van Loo and Schlechte to make it 18-11.
- Taki gave the Flyers the victory in the second set, 25-18, after she recorded a kill, off the assist from Stenman.
THIRD SET: No. 21 Lewis 27, San Francisco State 25
- It went back and forth to start off the third set.
- SFS made a rally to take a 10-6 lead then Lewis scored three in a row with kills by Van Loo and Ray to cut it down to one.
- The Gators went up again towards the middle of the third set and pulled ahead 20-15.
- Ray kept the Flyers in the set which shifted momentum over for Lewis after recording a kill.
- Lewis cut it down to 23-21 late in the third set.
- San Francisco State went up 24-21 and had set point but the Flyers had other plans as Lewis scored four points in a row capped off by a kill by Taki.
- Ray capped off the third set victory and the match for Lewis after recording a kill.
FINAL SCORE: No. 21 Lewis 3, San Francisco State 0
