ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's soccer team recorded their second straight shutout as the Flyers defeated Northwood at Lewis Stadium, 2-0, Saturday (Sept. 3).
Cosa Bella Milazzo (Orland Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) scored in the first half and
Cameron Sengstock (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) scored her second goal of the season in the other 45 minutes.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Lewis 1, Northwood 0
- Cameron Sengstock (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) went on the attack right away to start the match in the second minute but her shot was saved.
- A couple minutes later, Julia Barenhaum tried to put the Flyers on the board but the shot attempt was saved.
- Kenedi Jones (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) looked to find the back of the net after going on the attack in the eighth minute but Northwoods keeper saved it.
- Northwood looked to break the scoreless tie in the 11th minute but Beekah Nielsen was there for the save.
- The Timberwolves had another scoring chance in the 22nd minute but it was saved.
- Lewis tried to end the 0-0 deadlock but Melisa Hadzic (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) and Mariana Pinto (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) shot it at the keeper in the 27th minute.
- The Flyers finally broke through in the 41st minute as Milazzo received the ball from Mariana Pinto (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) for her first goal of the season.
- Northwood tried to respond right away in the 43rd minute but Nielsen recorded the save.
SECOND HALF: Lewis 1, Northwood 0
- Sengstock looked to double the lead in the 56th minute with another attacking attempt but the shot was saved.
- NU wanted to tie it in the 63rd minute with their breakaway attack attempt but Nielsen saved it.
- The Timberwolves wasted no time as a couple minutes later in the 65th had a corner kick and recorded a shot on goal attempt but it was saved.
- Northwood had another scoring chance in the 76th minute looking to tie it but Nielsen snagged it.
- Lewis doubled their lead in the 83rd minute as Hadzic found Sengstock for her second goal of the season.
- NU had two other attempts to try to cut the lead in half but Nielsen would not be denied saves.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 2, Northwood 0
