Just over seven minutes later, at the 15:59 mark, Lewis responded with a goal by Holzer. Holzer got the ball behind the defense with a great feed from Gorodnickis, and sent a kick over the Bulldogs' goalkeeper and into the back of the net. Revell earned the secondary assist on the Flyers' goal.

Doppelhofer made two more saves before the end of the first half, with Lewis also recording one more shot on goal, but nothing got by either netminder the rest of the way.
