Lewis Women's Soccer Draws With Illinois-Springfield Friday

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University women's soccer team drew with Illinois-Springfield at Lewis Stadium Friday (October 27) as the Flyers have extended its undefeated streak to 11 contests.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Lewis 0, Illinois-Springfield 0 
UIS recorded the first two shots of the contest but none found the back of the net and one was saved by Nielsen. Culver tried to put the Flyers on the board with the next two shot on goal attempts but both were saved by the Prairie Stars. 

Illinois-Springfield shot the next six times in a 20 minute span but Nielsen was able to save four of them. Elisa Aguilar (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) was able to record the next pair of shots but one was off target and the other one was saved. 

SECOND HALF: Lewis 0, Illinois-Springfield 0 
Mariana Pinto (Lemont, Ill./Benet Academy) look to break the scoreless tie in the 56' but her shot was off target. The Prairie Stars went on the attack a couple minutes later but their shot was also off target. 

UIS had a scoring chance in the 65th minute after driving the field but Nielsen recorded the save. The Prairie Stars had a prime scoring chance at the 78:01 after having a penalty kick but Nielsen recorded a huge save to keep the game at 0-0.

Lewis was unable to record a shot the rest of the contest. UIS had another one but it went high. 

FINAL SCORE: Lewis 0, Illinois-Springfield 0

The Lewis women's soccer team will host Senior Day Sunday (Oct. 29) at noon as the Flyers host Quincy.
