HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Lewis University women's basketball team fell, 83-64, at Michigan Tech Saturday (Nov. 11) at SDC Gymnasium.

SUMMARY
After both teams missed their first shot, they traded three-point baskets early. Following a brief back-and-forth stretch, Michigan Tech went on a 7-1 run to open up an 18-10 lead, and held a 20-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The Huskies continued building the lead in the second quarter, stretching it as large as 18 points at 35-17 midway through the frame. But Lewis came roaring back with an 11-3 run to get back to within 10. The Flyers held Michigan Tech without a field goal for 4:30 during the charge.
Lewis trailed, 30-41, at halftime. The Huskies were 7/13 (.538) from three-point range and 8/8 from the free-throw line.
Neither side could gain much edge early in the third quarter, with back-and-forth action taking the score to 53-41 in favor of Michigan Tech. Then, the Huskies finished the quarter on a 10-1 run to push the lead over 20 points, at 63-42.
The fourth quarter was the best of the game for the Flyers offensively, scoring 22 points on 7/13 (.538) shooting from the field, but trailed by as much as 27 early in the final frame. Lewis had one last surge, a 12-1 run that left the score at 73-57 in favor of Michigan Tech, but got no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
Hilber's 22 points were the first 20-point game of the season for the Flyers, and just four points shy of her career-high of 26, set on Feb. 5, 2022 in a win over Quincy.
