Neither side could gain much edge early in the third quarter, with back-and-forth action taking the score to 53-41 in favor of Michigan Tech. Then, the Huskies finished the quarter on a 10-1 run to push the lead over 20 points, at 63-42.

The fourth quarter was the best of the game for the Flyers offensively, scoring 22 points on 7/13 (.538) shooting from the field, but trailed by as much as 27 early in the final frame. Lewis had one last surge, a 12-1 run that left the score at 73-57 in favor of Michigan Tech, but got no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
