SUMMARY
Both teams traded baskets to start the contest before Lewis went on a 10-2 run capped off by three-pointers by Vanderheydt and Renfro. USF scored the next basket before the Flyers scored 11 unanswered, including four points from Frericks, which made it 23-6 with 11:41 to play.
USF responded with a 9-4 push capped off by a three-pointer trying to get back in the contest at 27-15.
Destin Logan (College Park, Ga./Skills Factory Prep), however, knocked down a three of his own to push the Flyers' lead back out to 15 (30-15). The Fighting Saints responded with a 7-1 run which made it 31-22 Lewis with 2:49 left before halftime.
The Flyers led 33-24 at the break. USF started the second half with a basket to cut it down to seven (33-26) before Lewis got back-to-back threes from Vanderheydt and Hill.
Cem Kirciman (Bursa, Turkey/Wisconsin-Green Bay) made it 51-34 with a basket with 13:49 to play. USF bounced back and scored eight straight points the next 90 seconds to make it 51-42.
Lewis was able to go up by 16 again after a layup from Hill. The Fighting Saints made it a 13-point game again before Lewis went on another run to put the game away for good after
Marieon Anderson (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) knocked down a triple.
