Lewis Baseball Drops Series Opener to Trevecca Nazarene Thursday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lewis University baseball team fell in their series opener in walk-off fashion against host Trevecca Nazarene, 5-4, at Jackson Field Thursday (Feb. 23).

SUMMARY
Trevecca Nazarene grabbed a 2-0 early lead in the top of the third inning after picking up a 2-run double which made it 2-0. 

Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) got one back in the third as he connected on his second home run in as many games to right. 

Julian Everett (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln Way East) tied the game for the Flyers in the top of the sixth inning which scored Cherokee LeBeau (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) from third. Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) gave Lewis a 4-2 lead after knocking through a 2-run single to center, scoring Everett and Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence)

Jake Karaba (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) was done in the sixth inning after getting in a mini jam. Karaba finished the day by pitching 5 2/3 innings, scattering four hits, allowing two runs, walking two and striking out 11. 

The Trojans walked off in the bottom of the ninth inning after scoring three runs all in the frame to win 5-4.
