ROSEMONT, Ill. --
The Lewis University softball team split its two games of the Lewis Dome Invite Saturday (Feb. 25) with the Flyers defeating Ursuline 11-0 in five innings before falling to Minnesota Duluth 4-0 at The Dome at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.

SUMMARY
Sara Serena (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee) started the scoring in the top of the first inning by knocking in
Jalyn Powell (Tolono, IL/Unity) with a RBI single to make it 1-0.
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) made it 2-0 after swiping home.
Moments later,
Meghan Bontrager (Milford, IN/Northridge) made it 4-0 after ripping a ground-rule double to center which scored
Payton Wuske (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) and Serena.
Powell added another run in the top of the second inning by knocking home
Gabi Nilles (North Aurora, IL/West Aurora) with a RBI single. Serena recorded her second RBI of the game after recording a sacrifice fly which scored Powell from third.
The Flyers were not done scoring in the second after Bontrager recorded a single then Graham scored after an Arrow miscue to make it 7-0.
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) expanded the lead out to 8-0 after ripping a RBI single up the middle which scored Nilles. Powell was able to connect on her second home run of the season during the next at-bat to make it 10-0.
Carrie Anderson (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) put the finishing touches on the game and made it 11-0 after ripping a RBI single down the left field line to score Bontrager.
Lewis starting pitcher
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (2-1) picked up the complete game victory after only allowing one hit, issuing one walk and striking out four over five frames.

SUMMARY
Minnesota Duluth scored in the fourth inning to make it 1-0. Powell started the bottom of the fourth inning with a double but the Flyers were unable to capitalize.
The Bulldogs doubled their lead in the fifth to make it 2-0.
UMD added a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead out to 4-0.
Lewis had another prime chance to drive in some runs in the bottom of the frame after
Evie Calderon (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young) walked then Niles knocked in a base hit to make it two on with nobody out. However, the Bulldogs were able to get three straight outs to escape the jam.

Lewis will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 26 as the Flyers take on Wisconsin-Parkside for the final day of the Lewis Dome Invite starting at 10 a.m.
