ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Lewis University softball team was defeated by Wisconsin-Parkside 5-3 at The Dome at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex Sunday (Feb. 26).Â

SUMMARY
Lewis grabbed a 2-0 lead in the opening inning after
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) reached on an error which scored
Jalyn Powell (Tolono, IL/Unity) and
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School).Â
Parkside responded in its top half of the second inning with two of its own with a two-run double.Â
The difference came in the fourth inning after the Rangers scored three runs when Lewis committed a pair of errors on the same play to make it 5-2.Â
The Flyers looked to rally in the fifth after
Gabi Nilles (North Aurora, IL/West Aurora) ripped a RBI single that scored
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School). That score would hold with Parkside winning 5-3.
Sara Serena (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee) (0-2) took the defeat after going 3 and 1/3 innings, scattering five hits, allowing five runs, three earned, walking three and striking out one.Â
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) pitched 3.2 scoreless innings in relief while only allowing four hits and striking out four.Â
