HICKORY, N.C. -- The No. 20 Lewis University men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-5 defeat against No. 3 Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday (Feb. 25).

FIRST QUARTER: Lenoir-Rhyne 6, Lewis 0
  • Rathe recorded three saves in the period.
  • Kevin Blaz (McHenry, IL/) tried to get Lewis on the scoreboard with 4:27 left but his shot was saved.
SECOND QUARTER: Lenoir-Rhyne 3, Lewis 1

  • Lenoir-Rhyne scored the final two goals of the third quarter to grab a 12-2 lead going into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lenoir-Rhyne 3, Lewis 3
  • Lenoir-Rhyne quickly made it 13-2 with a goal in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.
  • Speers recorded his second goal of the contest with 6:38 left in the game.
  • The Bears made it 15-3 a few minutes later with 4:07 remaining in the match.
  • Baden Boyenko (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/) got in the scoresheet with 3:15 left in the game after receiving the ball from Sam Kern (Delano, MN/).
  • Blaz recorded his first goal of the contest a minute later with 2:25 remaining, which made it 15-5.
