QUARTER BREAKDOWN
First Quarter: Lewis 4, North Greenville 4
- North Greenville recorded the first two goals of the contest in the opening five minutes of the match.
- Boyenko scored the first goal of the match for Lewis to cut the deficit in half.
- Not even a minute later, Kevin Blaz (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic HS) responded and tied the match at 2-2.
- Clement recorded two goals back-to-back to give the Flyers a 4-2 lead.
- The Crusaders responded with two goals of their own late in the first quarter to tie the contest.
Second Quarter: Lewis 7, North Greenville 1
- Lewis dominated the second quarter as the Flyers outscored the Crusaders 7-1 in the second period.
- Jack Speers (Glenview, IL/) opened up the second half with a goal to regain the lead for Lewis.
- Blaz scored his second goal of the contest shortly after to make it 6-4.
- Clement picked up a hat trick as the senior recorded his third goal of the game, which made it 7-4.
- Dominic Bravata (Portage, MI/Portage Northern HS) picked up his first goal of the match off the pass from Boyenko a minute later to make it 8-4.
- Lewis was able to make it 9-4 after NGU picked up a penalty as Zach Buddelmeyer (Springboro, OH/Springboro HS) scored a goal.
- Kai George (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster Secondary School) make it 10-4 after he found the back of the net.
- Boyenko picked up his second goal of the match after Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/) found him to make it 11-4.
- The Crusaders were able to get on the scoreboard in the second quarter and got one back, which made it 11-5 going to the break.
Third Quarter: North Greenville 3, Lewis 2
- NGU scored the first three goals of the third quarter which made it 11-8 Lewis but the Crusaders were held off the scoreboard the rest of the quarter.
- Jack Speers (Glenview, IL/) extended the lead for the Flyers after his second goal of the game.
- Trevor Collier (Millersville, MD/Old Mill High School) was able to find Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, MN/) for a goal to build on the Lewis lead, making it 13-8 Flyers at the end of the third.
Fourth Quarter: Lewis 3, North Greenville 0
- Lewis held North Greenville off the scoreboard in the final period as Rathe recorded three saves.
- Boyenko became the second Flyer to record a hat trick in the game after he made it 14-8 with his goal.
- Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/) expanded the Lewis lead out to 15-8 from the pass from Boyenko.
- Clement scored his team high fourth goal of the contest which made it 16-8 and that score would hold.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 16, North Greenville 8
