BANNER ELK, N.C. -- The Lewis University men's lacrosse picked up the win in convincing fashion as the Flyers defeated Lees-McRae College 15-2 Friday (March 10) at Tate Field.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 6, Lees-McRae 2
- Lewis jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game in the first 10 minutes of the game.
- Buddelmeyer recorded a pair of goals including one from Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/).
- Kevin Blaz (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic HS) made it 3-0 after he scored his goal unassisted.
- Boyenko extended the lead out to 4-0 not even a minute later off the pass from Anthony Mattio (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North HS).
- Clement scored the final goal of the five unanswered by Lewis with the assist by Boyenko.
- Lees-McRae got one back a minute later to cut it down to 5-1.
- Blaz recorded his second goal of the game to extend it back out to 6-1.
- The Bobcats responded with a goal of their own to make it 6-2 but that would be LMC's final goal of the match.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 4, Lees-McRae 0
- Lewis scored all four goals in the second quarter to give Lewis a 10-2 lead at half.
- Dominic Bravata (Portage, MI/Portage Northern HS) made it 7-2 after scoring his first goal of the match.
- Clement scored his second goal of the contest to make it 8-2.
- Buddelmeyer recorded a hat trick after scoring with 6:02 left in the half which made it 9-2.
- Clement joined Buddelmeyer as the second player to score a hat trick in the match not even a minute later to make it 10-2.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 3, Lees-McRae 0
- Andrew Schermerhorn (Appleton, WI/St. Francis Xavier) got on the stat sheet after scoring a goal with 4:38 in the third quarter.
- Schermerhorn assisted on the next goal after Wyatt Hoetker (Simpsonville, KY/Christian Academy of Louis) found the back of the net to extend the lead out to 12-2.
- Caden Fatzinger (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North HS) closed out the third quarter with his first of the contest which made it 13-2.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 2, Lees-McRae 0
- Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, OK/Bishop Kelley HS) received the ball from Fatzinger and found the back of the net to extend the lead to 14-2.
- Trevor Collier (Millersville, MD/Old Mill High School) scored the final goal of the game with 2:06 left in the game to give the Flyers a 15-2 lead.
