ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader to No. 9 Indianapolis Sunday and Monday. The Greyhounds won the first game 4-1 before winning the second 3-2 at Lewis Softball Field.

GAME 1 SUNDAY: Indianapolis 4, Lewis 1
Indianapolis struck first in the opening inning to grab an early 1-0.
The Greyhounds expanded its lead in the sixth inning with a two-run homer which made it 3-0.
Indy scored its final run of the contest in the seventh inning to make it 4-0.
Lewis got on the scoreboard after
Carrie Anderson (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) recorded a single which scored
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School).
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) (6-5) suffered the loss in the circle after going all seven frames, allowing four runs (three earned), walking one and striking out 10.
GAME 2 MONDAY: Indianapolis 3, Lewis 2
Jalyn Powell (Tolono, IL/Unity) started the scoring with her fourth home run of the season in the first.
Indianapolis responded with three runs, one in the third, fourth and sixth.
Lewis looked to rally in the seventh inning after Anderson drove in
Meghan Bontrager (Milford, IN/Northridge) to make it 3-2.
The Greyhounds were able to escape further damage after getting three straight outs.

Lewis will be back in action Saturday, April 1 as the Flyers host Quincy for a doubleheader starting at noon.
