QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Rockhurst 3, Lewis 1
- Lewis struck first after Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein) found Paige Bracey (Apex, NC/Apex) for the goal.
- Rockhurst responded with the next three goals in the next 10 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 5, Rockhurst 4
- The Hawks scored the opening goal of the second quarter which gave them a 4-1 lead.
- The Flyers bounced back and scored the next two.
- Bracey was able to find Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, IL/Geneva) this time for the goal.
- Bowen scored her team high 23rd goal to cut the deficit down to one.
- Rockhurst got the two goals right back to extend its lead to 6-3.
- Lewis went on to score three unanswered goals to tie the game at 6-6.
- Paige Bracey (Apex, NC/Apex) was able to find the back of the net for her 17th goal of the season.
- Sweeney then scored back-to-back goals with Bowen assisting both.
THIRD QUARTER: Rockhurst 5, Lewis 3
- Rockhurst scored the opening goal of the second half before Carlie Serritella (Chicago, IL/Resurrection) got one back off the pass from Bowen.
- The Hawks got the next two goals which gave them a 10-7 lead.
- Lucich connected on her first goal of the contest off the pass from Bowen.
- Bowen recorded her second goal of the game which made it 11-9 Rockhurst.
FOURTH QUARTER: Rockhurst 6, Lewis 3
- Rockhurst scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter before Sweeney scored her third goal with 9:23 to play in the game.
- Bowen also picked up her third goal of the match which made it 16-11 Rockhurst with 5:45 left.
- Lucich scored with 42 seconds left for the final goal of the match as the Hawks won 18-12.
FINAL SCORE: Rockhurst 18, Lewis 12
