KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Lewis University softball team swept its doubleheader against Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Truman State Wednesday (April 19). The Flyers won the first game 3-0 and then second 2-0. The Flyers recorded two complete shutouts and did not issue a walk all afternoon.

Carrie Anderson (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) recorded her third home run of the season with a solo shot to left to make it 1-0.
Anderson doubled the lead in the seventh inning after grounding out which scored
Sara Serena (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee).

Meghan Bontrager (Milford, IN/Northridge) made it 3-0 after driving in
Payton Wuske (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) with a single.
Garden (11-5) recorded the victory in the circle after going seven scoreless, allowing two hits and striking out five.
GAME 2: Lewis 2, Truman State 0
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School) started the scoring in the fifth inning after a RBI double scored Nilles.
Anderson picked up her second home run of the afternoon with a solo shot to left made it 2-0.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (8-4) picked up the win after going seven spotless frames, giving up two hits and striking out six.
