SUMMARY
Lewis opened the scoring in the top of the first as
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) doubled to center field and advanced to third on a throwing error. That error led to a run as
Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic) grounded out to short, scoring Alt.
However, that would be the lone run of the game for the Flyers and Drury would respond with six runs in the bottom half of the first to take control, 6-1.
Drury added a run in the second, third and fifth innings and then scored three more in the sixth inning to put the game away.
Alt,
Cherokee LeBeau (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) and
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) had the hits for the Flyers in the contest.
Shane Gorman (Orland Park, Ill./Br. Rice) (2-5) suffered the loss on the mound.
