ROLLA, Mo. -- The Lewis University softball team split its doubleheader against Missouri S&T in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday.

SUMMARY
GAME 1: Missouri S&T 4, Lewis 3 (10 innings)
Lewis jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning after
Sara Serena (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee) left the yard with a three-run home run.
Missouri S&T responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it 3-2.
The Miners tied the contest up at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) (13-6) suffered the loss, allowing four earned runs over 9.1 innings, striking out six.
Serena led the way with two hits in the game.
Game 2: Lewis 1, Missouri S&T 0
The lone tally came in the top of the fifth when Garden ripped a RBI single up the middle which scored
Gabi Nilles (North Aurora, IL/West Aurora).
Jalyn Powell (Tolono, IL/Unity) had a two-hit game to lead the Flyers.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (10-4) recorded the complete game shutout after allowing only two hits and striking out 10.
