EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- The Lewis softball team was unable to come away with the victory against Maryville Saturday (May 6) as the Saints were victorious 2-0.

SUMMARY
Maryville scored first in the top of the fourth inning with two outs to make it 1-0.
The Saints extended its lead in the fifth inning after hitting a solo home run which made it 2-0.
Lewis had the tying run at the plate in the seventh inning but Maryville got two straight outs to clinch the victory.
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) (15-7) suffered the setback in the circle after going all seven innings, allowing two runs, giving up nine hits, and striking out seven.
Meghan Bontrager (Milford, IN/Northridge) led the Flyers with two hits.
