INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lewis University baseball team fell to Indianapolis 11-5 Sunday (May 7) in the regular season finale for the two teams.

SUMMARY
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) opened the scoring with a two-run home run to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. The Greyhounds came back with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-2 lead.
Lewis got two runs back in the third inning as
Kevin Barry (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) singled home
Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic).
However, Indianapolis came back again, scoring five more runs in the third inning to take a 10-4 lead.
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin)Â reached on a fielder's choice in the sixth inning, scoring McDevitt to cut the lead to 10-5, but the Greyhounds got the run right back in the bottom of the inning to make it 11-5.
Headrick had three hits to lead Lewis, while McDevitt added two hits.
Luke Carlson (Granville, Ill./Putnam County) (3-2) suffered the loss.

The same two teams will be facing off in the GLVC Tournament at 9 a.m. May 11 at Mountain Dew Park in Marion, Ill. Lewis enters as the No. 4 seed, while the Greyhounds are the No. 5.
