HAMMOND, Ind. -- Both teams were able to put shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net as the Lewis men's soccer team opened its season with a 0-0 draw Thursday (Aug. 31) against Purdue Northwest at Dowling Park.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 0, Purdue Northwest 0
Lewis looked to get on the scoreboard after Revell drove the field in the third minute but his shot was off target. Purdue Northwest recorded the next four shots where three were saved by Doppelhofer.
The Flyers looked to grab the lead in the first half after recording every shot the last part of the first 45 minutes. Revell recorded two shots on goal in the 22nd and 35th minute. Perez had a scoring opportunity in the 39th minute after driving the field but her shot was saved.
Second Half: Lewis 0, Purdue Northwest 0
Joram Bogers (Tilburg, Netherlands/Mill-Hill College) picked up a shot in the 51st minute but it was off target to the left. PNW recorded a pair of shots in the 59th and 60th minute but they were off target and Doppelhofer saved one.
Kuba Chrapczynski (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) tried to give Lewis the lead in the 73rd minute but his shot was off target. Perez picked up two straight shots on target the next six minutes but PNW's goalkeeper recorded saves on both of them.
In the closing minutes of the contest, Perez had another shot attempt in the 89th minute but it was off target then Revell recorded a shot on target but it was saved.
