SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Lewis University women's soccer team fell to Drury 1-0 Friday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 0, Drury 0
Drury put two shots on goal in the first five minutes of the contest with Nielsen turning them away both times. The Panthers added three more shots, one on goal, before Lewis got its first shot off from Hadzic.
The Flyers got their first shot on goal at the 38:01 mark, but the shot was saved. Drury fired five more shots the final seven minutes of the half but couldn't find the back of the net.
Second Half: Drury 1, Lewis 0
Lewis came close to taking the lead in the 55th minute as a Hadzic shot hit the crossbar. The Flyers had another opportunity in the 66th minute but a Culver shot was saved.
Drury went on the attack in the final 10 minutes of the contest, taking six shots, two of which were blocked and another was saved. However, a penalty in the box in the 88th minute led to a penalty kick goal for the Panthers. Lewis got one more shot off in the 89th minute, but an Aguilar shot went high.
