BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lewis University women's soccer team defeated Southwest Baptist 3-0 with three different goal scorers in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest Sunday (Sept. 17).

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Lewis 1, SW Baptist 0
Lewis had a pair of shots in the first 15 minutes but both were off target. Southwest Baptist looked to get on the scoreboard in the 31st minute but their shot attempt was saved by Nilsen.
A couple minutes later, Hadzic got the Flyers on the scoreboard in the 33rd minute to make it 1-0 off the pass from Harvey. Culver looked to double the lead in the closing minute of the half but SW Baptist's goalie saved it.
SECOND HALF: Lewis 2, SW Baptist 0
Carlie Burns (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) went on the attack early in the second half in the 46th minute but her shot was saved.
Moments later in the second half, Klaus was able to find Culver as the sophomore found the back of the net to make it 2-0 Lewis at the 63rd minute. The Bearcats recorded a pair of shots the next 10 minutes but none were on target.
Rojnik expanded the lead to 3-0 after connecting on a penalty kick in the 74th minute after a Southwest Baptist foul.
Mariana Pinto (Lemont, Ill./Benet Academy) and Klaus looked to build on the Flyers lead with back-to-back shots in the 79th and 81st minute respectively but both were saved.
