LEBANON, Ill. - The Lewis University men's soccer team defeated (RV) McKendree 1-0 Friday (Sept. 29) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. It was the fourth straight win and sixth straight shutout for the Flyers.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, McKendree 0
McKendree recorded the first three shots of the contest but none were able to find the back of the net. Garcia recorded his first goal of the season in the 32' to give the Flyers a early 1-0 lead.
The Bearcats looked to respond a few minutes later, but Doppelhofer recorded the save. Lewis tried to double its lead after Perez went on the attack but it was blocked.
The Flyers recorded the next three shot attempts which were by
Makonnen Stampley (Lockport, Ill./Lockport),
Justin Darlage (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) and Roberts Gorodnickis but all were off target.
Second Half: Lewis 0, McKendree 0
McKendree recorded the first shot of the second off in the 65', but it was off target and high. Fischer looked to double the lead after going on the attack at the 68:16 mark but it was saved by McKendree's goalkeeper.
Both teams traded shots including one by
Mikey Revell (Largo, Maryland/Bishop McNamara) but the two were off target. The Bearcats tried one last push in the 88' after going on the attack but their shot attempt was saved.
