ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's soccer team fell, 2-1, to University of Wisconsin-Parkside in its home opener at Lewis Stadium Sunday (Sept. 3).
Mariana Pinto (Lemont, Ill./Benet Academy) had the Flyers' lone goal in the match.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, Parkside 0
Lewis recorded the first shot, which was on goal, by Krupp in the third minute, but she was denied by Parkside goalkeeper Izzy Guyer.
The Flyers struck first with a goal by Pinto at the 12:54 mark, on a pass from Culver in the top of the box, and she got just enough on the shot to find the back of the net in spite of a deflection by Guyer.
Villasenor was tested for the first time in the 16th minute and made a save on the right side of the net. The senior finished the half with three saves.
Lewis finished the opening frame with six of its seven shots on goal.
Second Half: Parkside 2, Lewis 0
The Flyers produced a great scoring opportunity in the 48th minute, but Hadzic's shot was tipped over the crossbar by Guyer.
Parkside was able to even the score with a goal by Alexis Baker at the 57:53 mark, assisted by Grace Breuchel. The Rangers then took the lead with a goal on a header by Alexis Bolger at the 62:34 mark from the assit by Sarah Swonger.
Krupp had an opportunity to tie the match at two in the 74th minute, but her shot went wide right.
