LIBERTY, Mo. -- The Lewis University men's basketball team came from behind and rallied to defeat William Jewell, 70-63, at MaBee Center Thursday (Jan. 11).

SUMMARY
Hill started the game with the first four points of the contest then William Jewell scored eight in a row to make it 8-4. Lewis was able to respond with a basket from Solomon. 
The Cardinals recorded back-to-back baskets before 
Paxton Warden (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) knocked down a triple. Moments later, Frericks gave the Flyers the lead after knocking down a three and a jumper which made it 16-14.
WJC closed out the half on a 8-2 run which gave the Cardinals a 26-20 lead at the break. 
William Jewell started the second half outscoring Lewis 8-2 which gave the Cardinals a 34-24 lead. Lewis looked to get back in the contest after a three from Warden and a jumper by Frericks cut it down to five with under 15 minutes to play.
The Cardinals led for a majority of the second half up until five minutes remaining. WJC led 52-47 before Lewis scored 11 unanswered thanks to a three by Frericks and Stroud gave the Flyers a 58-52 lead with 3:24 left. 
Lewis never gave up the lead after that point and won the contest 70-63.
During the game, Frericks recorded his 1000th career point at Lewis.
